The Rose: Come Back to Me directed by Eugene Yi and produced by Diane Quon, is an intimate documentary chronicling the remarkable journey of The Rose, from their humble beginnings as a South Korean indie band to their rise as a global sensation. The film showcases the power of music to heal and foster brotherhood.
What an absolute thrill to see The Rose: Come Back To Me at its Tribeca Festival world premiere on June 6th, 2025!
This is the first time One in a Billion Productions has supported a musical documentary that truly captures the power of music to forge friendships and spark connections. In the film, a band member said he was blown away by live concert audiences in Europe singing along in Korean! After the screening, The Rose performed live to a packed room of fans, young and old, screaming for more! The Tribeca premiere opened with a bang: 600 SOLD OUT seats!
Directed by Eugene Yi and produced by Diane Quon, the documentary drew cheers and laughter from the audience, as well as quiet moments of complete immersion during scenes of emotional breakdown and resolution. It speaks to our universal desire for self-expression and reflection, understanding and forbearance, unity and support during tough times.
One of the most rewarding experiences for me as a consulting producer on this film has been experiencing and sharing the audience’s response inside the cinema. The impact is immediate and connective, breaking down barriers between people of different races, genders, and generations.
Another fun part was reconnecting and meeting with many producers and managers on our team for the first time at Tribeca!
Executive Producers Janet Yang and Bina Shukla; HYBE America CEO/President James Shin; and Transparent Arts COO James Roh and HasBeenProductions Dennis Chang.
From our red carpet photos together to the after-party meet-up, Kim Woosung, Park Dojoon, Lee Hajoon, and Lee Jaehyeong all exuded rockstar glamour and personal charm.

“The Rose” is not merely a movie about the success of a Korean band in the Western world. It’s a journal of self-awareness, independent spirit, and the pursuit of excellence despite dealing with struggles in one’s life. The story of each band member is powerful, moving, and inspiring. It made me think deeply about how music and art are integrated into our lives and change us in different ways.” – Jean
“The Rose was a really special film about how the band stayed together during tough times. It captured the raw emotion behind the music and the unbreakable bond between its members.” – Jackie
“The Rose is not your typical Korean band, and this movie is not your typical documentary. With honesty and humor, the band demonstrates how and why they have carved a unique spot in the global music industry.” – Michelle

“This is a perfect example of – ‘If you believe, you can achieve’- in real life. The most touching part to me was the dad’s support to help the son go for his dream, and also during the depression time…(to show) love and encouragement. Those parts made me want to cry with them.” – Angela
