This holiday season, we are spotlighting Asian voices of ambition.

We begin with Rock the Boat, a podcast about Asian Americans challenging the status quo. That sounds amazing, doesn’t it?

When I first heard about the show, Rock the Boat was ready to launch Season 3 (Sept 2019) at the China Institute.  I showed up at that sold-out event and was instantly drawn to the lively conversations moderated by Lucia Liu and Lynne Guey in a room packed with Asian and American audiences eager to hear compelling stories of struggle and success.

Soon, Lucia and I met and discussed ways to reach a wider audience.  We decided to begin by featuring her as a podcast contributor about Asian Ambition for our 2020 Holiday Season – Special Series.

Today, you will hear Lucia’s interview with Dr. Leana Wen  – an emergency physician, former Public Health Commissioner of Baltimore, and CNN medial analyst.  Born in Shanghai, Dr. Wen speaks about her journey from being a private physician to being a public health advocate, and her personal fight against xenophobia.

Today, you will hear their interview with Andrew Yang (2019) when he became a Democratic Presidential candidate. His run may be over, but his message and his courage will linger among Asian Americans who dare to dream.
